Youth member on the rise

Congratulations to Stefan Davies-Capper, one of our enthusiastic youth group, who has won himself a place at this year’s National Youth Theatre Summer School, auditioning with Romeo’s ‘tomb’ speech to Juliet.

At 14, Stefan is one of the youngest from 4,000 others who tried for places. Unfortunately, it isn’t a free ride. Stefan has to find £1000 to attend and is doing a sponsored walk up Snowdon to raise funds. Anyone who would care to help can pledge support by contacting Stefan on stefancap@rocket-mail.com

Soap In My Eye

Saddleworth Players proudly presents the English Premiere of “Soap in my Eye” by member Vin Kenny at the 2010 Supporter’s Evening on June 19th at 8.00pm.
Supporter’s Evening is the new name for the Subscribers Evening, which has been extended to include members, friends and sponsors, all of whom will have the opportunity
to enjoy this one act play that won the Scottish Drama Association’s “Play on Words Award” in 2009.

The event is Britain’s largest competition for new short plays and Vin’s play came first from an initial field of seventy-five. SP members who would like to attend should give their names to Elizabeth Hardie (Tel: 01457 871885). Seats will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. The ticket price (which includes supper) is £7.

The Venetian Twins

The next play reading session will be on Wednesday 16th June in the Theatre bar at 7-30pm. We will read Goldoni's " the Venetian Twins". It is a tale of mistaken identity, star-crossed lovers and male machismo or put another way, Whitehall farce 18th century Italian style! If you wish to know anything more about the play reading contact Frank Boocock on 01457 873985 or on fandmboo@btinternet.com
